Nail Technician Apprenticeship
Changes City Spa is accepting applications for its nail apprenticeship program. The Changes City Spa nail apprenticeship program is approved by the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR), which issues professional licenses and enforces standards of professional conduct in Virginia. The goal of the Changes City Spa nail apprenticeship program is to create, coach, and grow licensed professional nail technicians. The path to licensure consists of 2000 hours of paid on-the-job training, successful completion of coursework and testing through the Norfolk Technical Center, and passing scores on the DPOR written and practical exams.
Assistant
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, energetic, and customer-focused Salon & Spa Assistant to support our team of service providers and help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for our guests. This role is essential to the daily operations of the salon and spa and is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
Responsibilities
- Shampoo and prepare guests for salon services
- Assist stylists, estheticians, massage therapists, and other service providers as needed
- Wash, dry, fold, and organize towels, linens, and robes
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the salon and spa, including treatment rooms, styling stations, restrooms, and common areas
- Restock retail products, professional supplies, refreshments, and guest amenities
- Refill dispensaries, sanitation stations, and service products as needed
- Ensure all work areas are clean, sanitized, and ready for guest services
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Support front desk and guest service needs when requested
- Help create a positive, professional, and welcoming experience for all guests
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds throughout the shift
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Previous salon, spa, hospitality, or customer service experience is a plus, but not required

Office Manager
Changes City Spa (Norfolk, VA) seeks an Office Manager to ensure the smooth, professional, and efficient operation of the spa and salon, to oversee daily front-desk coordination, staff communication, client satisfaction, and administrative systems. Specific duties include: overseeing day-to-day operations of the front desk, reception area, and administrative support functions; maintaining client databases; managing appointment scheduling, staff availability, and service optimization using Meevo2 software; maintaining accurate client records, memberships, gift card tracking, and loyalty programs; supervising and training front-desk team members to ensure professional, consistent client interactions; monitoring retail sales, backbar usage, and inventory levels; coordinating product ordering with vendors; supporting the Spa Director/Owner in managing staff schedules, time-off requests, and internal communications; preparing daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports (sales, productivity, pre-booking, retention, etc.); handling all administrative communications including phone, email, and inter-department messaging; maintaining organized filing systems (digital and paper) for HR, vendor, and business operations; ensuring a clean, professional, and welcoming spa environment that aligns with brand standards; assisting with marketing and promotions by creating or distributing internal memos, signage, and digital content using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; supporting bookkeeping and payroll functions as needed in coordination with the bookkeeper or accountant.
Position requires a Bachelor degree in Business, Economics, or closely related field, or foreign equivalent, plus 2 years of experience in position offered, or similar position in office management, or front-desk leadership position in a spa, salon, or hospitality environment. Specific experience must include each of the following: experience with Meevo2, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and general computer systems; organizing office work; customer service and problem-solving setting.
